If you take wood to a carpenter, you get furniture. But it's not as simple as it sounds, there's a particular type of wood that is suitable for a particular type of furniture, and also the skills and experience of the carpenter play a role in determining how the final product would look like.
Now WORDS are to the mind, as wood is to the carpenter. No matter how beautiful a tree may be,the carpenter would want to chop it down and cut into planks, then make shapes of his own choice. That's exactly how the mind deals with words,it never takes them as they are, rather,it will always make something of it's own out of them: that's called thinking.
Out of the various types of carpenters, there are two specific ones i would like us to look at. Firstly there are those who are fascinated by their ability to create stuff from wood. For every piece of wood they come across ,they always want to make something out of it. To them, what matters the most is how they do their work, not what they do.
Then the second group is the one that's fascinated by the stuff they create from wood. The type of wood and the amount of work they do is determined by the final product. To them, it doesn't really matter how they do their work, as long as they manage to create the product they want.
Between the two, which one do you think would run a successful furniture business?
In the same way, there are people who belong to the first group in the way they think. It really doesn't matter to them what comes into their heads,or what comes out, but they are very confident that the way they think/act is brilliant, and that is what we call stupidity.
Then the second group are those who strive to make sure that what they think/do is brilliant. So it really matters to them what goes into their minds and what comes out of it. Now the easiest way of doing this would be to look for brilliant thoughts of other people, and just use them as if they are theirs,,and that is what we call wisdom.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice~ Proverbs 12:15
