Was Jesus blind?

The Bible tells a story about a blind man called Bartimaeus, who called out to Jesus for mercy and healing. However, this post is mostly concerned about the question that Jesus asked the man:

 

(Mark 10v51) “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.

 If I were Bartimaeus, I would have probably shouted,"Master, can't you see I'm blind???" Apart from the great power that Jesus had, of reading people's minds,by just using His eyes, he could have easily seen what the blind man wanted Him to do . So why then did He ask such an obvious question? You can tell me what you think in the comments section below, In the meantime let me tell you what I think about this matter.

I think, according to Jesus, the blind man actually had a choice, as in, it was actually okay for him to choose something else besides asking for eyesight. If the man had instead answered by saying; "I want food, I'm hungry" , Jesus would have probably given him something to eat and end there. Whilst that may sound a bit inconsiderate, there was really no need for Jesus to give him eyesight if the blind guy didn't seem bothered by his condition. I can actually say that Jesus wasn't bothered about the man's eye condition either, otherwise He would have quickly healed Him without having to ask him that question.That question actually shows that Jesus cared about the blind man.

 I didn't mean for this post to be a sermon, but I couldn't find a better way to bring out the true meaning of "caring". From the story above, allow me to give you a special definition of caring, which goes:

Caring is how much you are not bothered!

The person who cares the most about you is the one who is least bothered by your condition. . The person who is bothered by your condition might also help you, but only because they care so much about themselves, they can't stand your condition. The one who cares about you is only bothered when you are bothered. Most of the times we get easily fooled by the people who do a lot for us into thinking that they actually care. Their actions act as a blindfold that prevents us from seeing their true intentions.Its therefore very important that you always try and look beyond.

This however doesn't mean you should go around asking every person about the reasons behind their actions, If you care enough about yourself you will easily know. By simply appreciating  and loving yourself for who you are, you will be able to see those that don't. Happiness is a feeling that comes from within you, no one can make you happy unless they know what is inside of you, i.e unless they ask you .
